love.golf has been nominated in the Women and Girls’ Trailblazer category in the soon-to-be-announced England Golf awards.
New for 2022, the category recognises those who have tackled under-representation in the game by providing opportunities from women and girls to take up or continue to enjoy the sport.
The winner will be announced at a virtual prize-giving ceremony, hosted by BBC presenter, Naga Munchetty, on Wednesday 20th April from 6.30PM and broadcast live on England Golf’s YouTube Channel.
love.golf’s nomination comes fresh off a landmark year of pushing new boundaries. In England alone, the love.golf community has grown to over 500 women, with an increased focus on bringing the game to a more diverse range of women from all ages and backgrounds. Â
In June 2021, the program hosted a pilot taster event alongside the Muslim Golf Association which sold out in the space of 12 hours. Subsequent events attracted over 40 new women to experience love.golf.
During the year, the program also hosted two pioneering influencer events, inviting local influencers from the diverse range of backgrounds to experience golf for the very first time and document their experience to thousands of followers.
Alastair Spink, love.golf Head Coach and Founder, said: “To be nominated is a fantastic acknowledgment of the work of all our coaches to bring the love.golf experience to women up and down the country.
“As a program, we pride ourselves on creating meaningful experiences that appeal to women who genuinely think golf may not be for them.
“We’re excited to continue this work in 2022 as we introduce the love.golf experience to new regions of England and grow our community even further.
Tune in to see if love.golf picks up the women and girls’ trailblazer award live from 6.30PM on Wednesday 20th April.
