2022 calendar

It’s that time of year when you begin to think about all the goals you want to achieve this year. The last few years have been difficult for many people, so why not use this New Year as an opportunity to try out new things, worry less and make positive changes in your life?

In order to do this, set yourself goals that are going to help impact both your body and mind and find ways to make yourself more active and reduce your stress. With that in mind, we’ve put together some ideas of goals and challenges that you can look forward to achieving in 2022!

Already decided on your New Year’s Resolutions? Let us know via our social channels. We’re always looking for inspiration!

Take up a new hobby

A new hobby is a great way to focus your mind, broaden your horizons and expand your social circle. Finding a hobby gives you something new and exciting to be passionate about and you might even find that you have a hidden talent! You don’t need to step too far out of your comfort zone – pick something that’s already sparked your interest, it may even be something you’ve tried before. Whether it’s photography, gardening or our personal favourite, golf, the process of learning a new skill can be really rewarding and a helpful distraction from the stresses of everyday life.

Winter is the perfect time to get back into the habit of reading again, as you snuggle up under a blanket away from the cold outdoors. Losing yourself in a fabulous fiction novel is a great way to relieve stress and transport yourself to another world, or you could make yourself the envy of the pub quiz team by expanding your knowledge with a book that teaches you something new. Reading is also a great way to get you ready for a good night’s sleep, so why not try switching your phone or tv remote for a bookmark before bed? You won’t regret it! Spend more time outdoors

Spending more time outside, especially in green space, will have a positive impact on both your mental and physical wellbeing. Fresh air and nature has been proven to help relax your mind, whilst also encouraging you to be more active. It might be taking your dogs for a walk, starting your own allotment or possibly playing more golf. Whatever it is, you’ll likely feel more relaxed, positive and calm – what better result could you ask for from a New Year’s Resolution?

Get away with the girls

Is there anything more fun than a girls trip? It can be so easy to let time pass you by without planning a get-together with all your favourite girls and after the past couple of years, socializing is more important than ever. Make sure you take time to plan a trip away this year, whether it’s a staycation with your besties or something a little further away, treat yourself, you deserve it! UK, short and long haul breaks that bring you golf and so much more!

Be kinder to yourself

Research shows that practicing self-compassion slows your heart rate and reduces sweating, two symptoms our bodies show when under stress. So we recommend taking a little time each day to focus on loving yourself a little more. This could be:
– Celebrating the small wins. Did you hit a deadline at work? Congratulate yourself before moving on to the next one!
– Paying yourself a compliment. Did you wash your hair with the fancy shampoo today? We bet it smells fabulous… So don’t forget to tell yourself that, too!
– Remembering the things you love about yourself. Us girls have a lot of hang-ups, so if you’re kind, realistic, silly or quirky, keep that in mind!

Take your love of golf to the next level

If you’ve already caught the golf bug, why not take your new passion to the next level by going to watch one of the major tournaments live? Watching the best players compete for one of the biggest prizes in golf is an incredible spectacle! The atmosphere is always amazing and it’s a great opportunity to both experience watching players at the height of their golfing career and enjoy a fun day out with your friends – there’s always a fabulous tented village on site with shopping, food, drinks and often fun challenges and competitions for fans to take part in. Local bars and restaurants often put on special activities too – who knows, you may also see one of your favourite players out for dinner in the local area after the days play!

Both the men’s and women’s Open are hosted in the UK every year and are a great choice to take in the atmosphere of a professional tournament. The dates for the 2022 events are below:
The Open | 10-17 July 2022 | St Andrews
AIG Women’s Open | 4-7 August 2022 | Muirfield
