Fun and fizz at Cawder Golf Club

A group of beginner golfers enjoyed their love.golf taster session at Cawder Golf Club so much they cracked open some prosecco afterwards.

The 23 women from all over Glasgow were led by love.golf coach Kirsten Scott and split into two groups to alternate between putting and hitting shots before playing a hole together.

Love.golfer Heather McLaren said: “It was amazing to meet so many likeminded women who were excited to learn something new.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the taster session. As a complete beginner to golf I was able to develop a basic movement without being bogged down with too many technical points.

“I enjoyed the ethos of the session where everyone was having fun and cheering each other on. The group environment will hopefully lead to me being able to continue playing with new people in the future.”

Kirsten Scott said: “One standout moment for me was on the first tee, the group cheering each other on as the first player form each group stood up to hit their drive.

“There was a great buzz in the clubhouse afterwards with everyone staying for a tea or coffee – and I even saw some bottles of prosecco on the tables.

“It was a really positive take-up for the event and I’m delighted that 18 of the 23 women have signed up for a block of six weekly group sessions.”

A big love.golf thanks to Kirsten and to Cawder Golf Club for hosting the session.
